- Criminal law Professor at PUCRS – currently on leave. Was coordinating professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedural Law and of the Graduate Studies Course in Corporate Criminal Law at PUCRS (2008-2016).
- Federal OAB board member (2016-2019). OAB/RS board member (2001-2012). Was the general director of Escola Superior de Advocacia (2008-2012), Chairman of the Internship and Bar Exam Committee (2004-2005) and Coordinator of the human rights committee of OAB/RS (2001-2003).
- Guest Professor of criminal law at Escola Superior da Magistratura (AJURIS) Escola da Magistratura Federal (ESMAFE).
- Was a member of the Evaluation Committee of Special Criminal Courts of the Ministry of Justice (2002, appointed by Minister Dr. Miguel Reale Jr.). Was a member of the Committee for Reform of the Criminal Appeals System, of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Ministry of Justice (2007, appointed by Minister Dr. Tarso Genro). Was a member of the Committee for Examination of the Reform of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the OAB (2010, appointed by President Dr. Cezar Britto).
- Member of the Editorial Boards of the journals Revista Brasileira de Ciências Criminais (IBCCRIM) and Revista de Estudos Criminais (PUCRS and ITEC/RS), and former president of ITEC (Transdisciplinary Institute of Criminal Studies).
- Author, organizer and collaborator of various scientific papers in the field of criminal sciences.
